Miss World 2024: India Welcomes Back The Grand Finale After 28 Years; All Eyes On Miss India Sini Shetty

The 71st edition of the Miss World 2024 pageant on Saturday made a triumphant return to India after a 28-year gap, with the much-anticipated grand finale unfolding in Mumbai at the Jio World Convention Centre. Sini Shetty, the winner of Femina Miss India 2022, will represent India on this global stage.

Viewers around the world can tune in to witness this spectacle, with Miss World 2024 being broadcast in over 140 countries and territories. The competition, themed “Beauty with a Purpose,” features 112 contenders vying for the coveted title, with 28 contestants representing various African nations.

Among them, Sini Shetty, a 22-year-old Mumbai native with roots in Karnataka, stands as India’s hopeful. A trained dancer, Shetty attained her Arangetram in Bharatanatyam at a tender age, under the tutelage of the esteemed classical dancer Radhakrishnan Padmini.

This star-studded event has filmmaker Karan Johar and Miss World 2013 Megan Young co-hosting, along with performances by singer Neha Kakkar, her brother Tony Kakkar and Shaan. Adding to the glamour, Polish model Karolina Bielawska, the reigning Miss World 2021, will grace the occasion.

A distinguished panel of judges, comprising film producer Sajid Nadiadwala, cricketer Harbhajan Singh, journalist Rajat Sharma, and actress-social worker Amruta Fadnavis, among others, will play a pivotal role in selecting the next global ambassador of beauty.

The Miss World Organisation stresses the significance of this event, underlining its role in celebrating not just beauty, but also a purpose. As the world awaits the crowning of the next Miss World, the anticipation and excitement surrounding this grand return to India after nearly three decades are palpable.

Competitions at the Miss World pageant include the World Top Designer Award, Miss World Top Model, Miss World Sports Challenge, Miss World Talent Final, Multi-Media Challenge, and Head To Head Challenge Final. The Continental Beauty With A Purpose Challenge and the grand Miss World Red Carpet Special will add glamour to this extraordinary event.
