Even as India added 25 new billionaires this year as per Forbes‘ latest report, among them is Renuka Jagtiani. Having a net worth of $4.8 billion, she is the chairperson and chief executive officer of Landmark Group.

Who Is Renuka Jagtiani?

Renuka Jagtiani is the chairperson and CEO of Landmark Group. The group, with over 5,000 employees, is a multinational consumer conglomerate based in Dubai and founded by her husband Micky Jagtiani.

Renuka Jagtiani did BA from the University of Mumbai.

She joined the Landmark Group in 1993. For more than 20 years, Jagtiani has led the company’s corporate strategy and expansion into new markets. She has been guiding the Group’s corporate strategy making it the region’s largest retailer channel of homegrown brands, across the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

Renuka Jagtiani got the Outstanding Asian Business Woman of the Year award in January 2007 at the Asian Business Awards Middle East.

In January 2012, Jagtiani was named Businesswoman of the Year at the Gulf Business Industry Awards. In January 2014, she was honoured as the Entrepreneur of the World Year by the World Entrepreneurship Forum.

Subsequently, in January 2015, she was recognised as the Strategic Leader of the Year at the Indian CEO Awards.

In January 2016, she got the Captain of the Industry Award from the Stars of Business Award.

Lastly, in January 2017, she was inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame’ at the World Retail Congress.

She has three children – Aarti, Nisha, and Rahul – who serve as group directors at Landmark.

According to the ‘Forbes World’s Billionaires List 2024: The Top 200′, India added 25 new billionaires this year, increasing the total number of billionaires in the country to 200 as compared to 169 last year. The combined wealth of these Indians stands at $954 billion, which is 41 per cent higher as compared with $675 billion last year.

Currently, there are more billionaires than ever — 2,781 in all, 141 more than last year and 26 more than the record set in 2021. They are richer than ever, worth $14.2 trillion in aggregate, up by $2 trillion from 2023 and $1.1 trillion above the previous record, also set in 2021.

Among Indians, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) CMD Mukesh Ambani topped the billionaires’ list with a total networth of $116 billion, followed by Gautam Adani ($84 billion), Shiv Nadar ($36.9 billion), Savitri Jindal & Family ($33.5 billion), and Dilip Shanghvi ($26.7 billion).

Mukesh Ambani is the only Indian in the top-10 list, at 9th rank globally.
